Coaching & Training using Positive Psychology
I design and deliver training progammes using positive psychology and one-to-one coaching sessions to build well-being in individuals and facilitate optimal human functioning in organisations, eg. by playing to strengths. Clients include the NHS, BBC, schools, charities and other organisations in the education and health sectors. I use a wide variety of techniques from the new science of positive psychology. I am one of the first positive psychologists to be trained in Britain on a programme based on Professor Martin Seligman's groundbreaking Masters in Applied Positive Psychology at the University of Pennsylvania. "Dr. Seligman is turning his attention to training Positive Psychologists, individuals whose practice will make the world a happier place, parallel to the way clinical psychologists have made the world a less unhappy place." Positive Psychology Center, University of Pennsylvania. I select whichever approach is the best fit for the individual. As well as positive psychology, this includes NLP, the toolbox of applied psychology techniques used in most forms of coaching. I trained in NLP with John Seymour Associates. I also draw on hypnotherapy, transactional analysis, meditation techniques and the new therapies of "energy psychology" such as EFT, the emotional freedom techniques and Psych-k which works on overcoming the hidden, subconscious beliefs that keep us stuck in the same patterns. Coaching sessions are delivered in person, on the phone and online.
