Training & Consultancy

I apply my knowledge as a qualified positive psychologist in group training sessions, individual coaching and consultancy within organisations who wish to introduce an element of positive psychology.  These fall broadly into two categories aimed at professional and personal development which draw on the evidence base of positive psychology.

Designing programmes to improve performance and productivity in the workplace

Creating well-being programmes that help people become happier & healthier.

Both these facets of positive psychology are linked.  For example research on positive emotions shows that when you experience positive to negative emotions at a ratio of 3 to 1 or above, you put yourself on the path towards optimal human functioning and teams can turn from languishing to flourishing.  Positive emotions don’t just feel good, they do you good too and increase your productivity, confidence, creativity, resilience and problem-solving capability. Equally finding a way to use your strengths at work is creating the conditions for you to excel with ease, doing something that comes naturally.  Using strengths increases performance and makes you feel good too.

I design training programmes specifically for organisations to their brief.  This has included a strengths development programme for staff in a school and a well-being programme for disaffected young people.   I also contribute to projects that wish to draw on the science of happiness, for example, into the development of a series of educational children’s books.

I offer a Positive Work Life Programme for individuals in organisations or as a personal coaching programme.

 The sessions are

  • Strengths - identifying & applying strengths to enhance performance
  • Positive Self - self-esteem & psychological well-being
  • Appreciative Inquiry  - identifying & building on what works
  • Positive Relationships - improving relationships, managing conflict
  • Self-Efficacy - boosting confidence and personal power
  • Goal-setting & motivation - future planning

If you have a project, department or brain which would benefit from an input of evidence-based positive psychology, please get in touch.
